started the day out late on a wednesday. waking up at noon. meeting at one. nothing much happened. headed to town, to pick up my specs, yes all alone : )
then it rained. and what inspiration it gave me to write on pieces of paper at the bus stop, phrases of thought.
so this is how the day played out..
once upon a time..
a girl called val - ok, no time for that. will tell you the juicy bits only.
.
.
this came from getting my specs done:
Eyes
to see
what a fit
for being blind robs me of the sunshine
a smile
your smile
.
.
inspired by a guy whom i met a traffic light:

Notice me, Notice me Not
you think I don't notice
but I do
all the little things
you do for me
and I appreciate it
with a smile
but I don't know your name
so thank you mister
i did notice you

.
.
then a lady in white, on a rainy day (oh what joy for men!):

A Lady in White
what a thrill
to wear white on a rainy day
to be transparent for all to see
so naked, but how glorious
to have nothing to hide
like the beginning of time
what a thrill, it must have been

.
.
then i waited for the bus, which didn't come early enough. it started to pour hard and fast. and my legs were washed up in the rain which bounced of the cement floor. and so i wait:

Pick Me Up
Raindrops falls hard
Big and fat
Unfoprgiving
And so I wait for you
To drive past me to pick me up
The thunder holds
Great and immense
Claps in the distance, strong
I can still hear
When will the rain go away I wonder
Maybe it wont
You just have to pick me up
And take me away
To where the sun shines again

.
.
then i thought somemore. got on the bus which finally came.
looked out the window, and saw:

Guide Me Home
because it rains heavy and hard
i am blind
i can't see what is ahead of me
nor what surrounds me
all I can see is the yellow and white lines
leading me home
so with my hands stretched out
i walk small steps, unsure
and in the middle of this
downpour of heaven's tears
someone took my hand
to guide me, to lead me
i don't know who you are
for you have no face
shielded by the onslaught of watery droplets
but in yours hands are mine
telling me "trust me"
something in your touch says it's gonna be ok

take a risk
jump off a bridge
the hands of heaven might catch you
"and they will" you say
so I'm gonna walk through this downpour
where to, I don't know
an unforeseen turst, faith with no assurances
just a risk on the heart
through the rain called "loss"

.
.
as i sit in the freezing bus, the uncle driver tries to slow down the aircon - but cold is cold. and someone boards the bus. drenched in the pouring rain:

Shivers
shivers
it's cold outside I can't deny
chattering teeth
i look at you, a child
drenched it the downpour
of a Wednesday afternoon
oh how I wished I had
a jacket to spare
for you a child with
shivers

and this is the end of a wonderful pouring wednesday : ) :

ttfn, this is me. out.
